This revolutionary technology transforms raw biomass into high-cetane green diesel through a self-sustaining, carbon-negative refining process. By combining fast pyrolysis, Sorption-Enhanced Water-Gas Shift (SEWGS), and Advanced Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO), we have engineered a closed-loop system that eliminates the need for expensive external hydrogen—drastically lowering capital and operational expenses while maximizing premium fuel yields.
The global demand for green diesel is skyrocketing, driven by strict mandates to decarbonize heavy transport, aviation, and shipping. However, traditional renewable diesel suffers from two fatal flaws: reliance on expensive food-grade vegetable oils (like soy and corn) and a heavy dependence on costly, fossil-fuel-derived hydrogen for refining.
We drop the feed costs and eliminate the hydrogen bottleneck. Our process utilizes low-cost, non-food biomass and captures its own internal chemistry to refine it into a premium, drop-in fuel.
Process Breakdown & Efficiency Gains
Step 1: Fast Pyrolysis (500°C, Rapid Heating): We thermal-crack raw biomass in seconds. This maximizes the liquid yield, splitting the input into three high-value streams: raw liquid bio-oil, porous biochar, and a hydrogen-rich syngas.
Step 2: Sorption-Enhanced Water-Gas Shift (SEWGS): Instead of using multi-stage, expensive gas cleanup, our single-unit SEWGS reactor shifts the syngas and selectively adsorbs CO2 simultaneously. This breakthroughs traditional chemical equilibrium, yielding an ultra-pure stream of H2 at a fraction of the cost of green electrolysis or steam methane reforming.
Step 3: Advanced Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) (100–200 bar, 350°C): Using our internally generated, high-purity H2 , the raw bio-oil undergoes high-pressure catalytic HDO. This strips away the oxygen molecules, converting unstable bio-oil into a highly stable, paraffinic, high-cetane green diesel that functions as a direct drop-in replacement for petroleum diesel.
Zero External Hydrogen Required: By recycling our syngas into high-purity hydrogen via SEWGS, we insulate our operations from volatile external H2 supply chains and save millions in utility costs.
Dual Revenue Streams: Beyond premium green diesel, our process generates solid biochar. This biochar serves as a highly effective tool for agricultural carbon sequestration, opening up highly lucrative voluntary carbon credit markets.
True Drop-In Fuel: Our green diesel exhibits a superior cetane rating compared to standard biodiesel, requiring no blending limits and no engine modifications.
